Google has been warned that its search engine is being used to spread malware.
In recent months, there have been regular warnings about the use of Google ads to spread malware, but Google still has not fixed the problem. Criminals are making widespread use of Google ads to spread ransomware and other malware, security researchers warn. Security researcher German Fernandez discovered with one of the ads that the underlying malware was hosted at Bitbucket and had been downloaded thousands of times in a matter of days.
