Five Eyes countries advise BitLocker to be activated due to ransomware
Hackers are being targeted by a group allegedly linked with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, according to the Five Eyes group.
Companies and organizations would be wise to enable Microsoft's encryption software BitLocker on all their networks and keep the encryption key with both Microsoft and an offline backup, several government agencies of the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, which together form the Five Eyes countries, advise. Since the group in question uses BitLocker, the Five Eyes also give organizations the specific advice to activate BitLocker itself on all networks to prevent attackers from doing so. In addition to stealing data, the group also uses Microsoft's BitLocker to encrypt files.
