Man who swapped SIM cards through T-Mobile systems sentenced to 4 years in prison
A court in the Netherlands has sentenced a man for sim-swapping phone numbers.
A 20-year-old man from Eelderwolde who managed to break into T-Mobile systems to then swap sims has been sentenced to four years in prison, two of which are suspended. Internal investigations at T-Mobile led to an ip address traceable to the suspect's parents' home, who was 18 years old at the time. At the time, the man was engaged in bank help desk fraud, posing as a bank's help desk employee and trying to extract login credentials from victims.
